Joe leads Improbable's global Defence business, overseeing all work with governments and militaries on projects to increase national security and resilience through synthetic environments and virtual worlds. He joined Improbable from the University of Oxford where he was a visiting Fellow in Politics, Philosophy and Economics. Prior to this, he served in the British Army for ten years, almost exclusively with Commando forces. Joe is passionate about applying technology and innovation to the tough strategic problems of an increasingly complex world.
